Systems Administrator resume keywords
Operating systems, directory services and virtualization, with the size of the environment. These are the terms recruiters search the ATS for, written the way postings write them.
Tools, systems and languages
- Windows Server
- Linux
- Active Directory
- VMware vSphere
- PowerShell
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Azure
- Group Policy
Skills and methods
- Backup and Recovery
Domain knowledge
- Domain Name System
How to use them
- Use the posting's exact wording. If it says a term one way, write it that way at least once.
- Give the platform and the scale: "managed Intune for 1,200 devices"
- Name networking fundamentals you used: DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs
- List certifications with their full names
- Only list what is true for you. A keyword you can't back up in an interview costs more than it gains.
