Field guide
How ATS screens IT and cloud operations resumes
IT roles are screened on platforms and scale. Recruiters search for the identity, endpoint and ticketing systems in the posting and look for how many users or devices you supported.
What recruiters filter and search on
- Identity and endpoint platforms: Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Intune, Jamf
- Ticketing and ITSM: ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, ITIL practices
- Vendor certifications: CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS or Azure
Name things the way the posting does
- Give the platform and the scale: "managed Intune for 1,200 devices"
- Name networking fundamentals you used: DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs
- List certifications with their full names
What trips up parsers in this field
- Generic duties ("provided technical support") with no systems named
- Version-specific tools listed without the platform
- Help desk metrics left out: ticket volume, resolution time, satisfaction
